Solution Architect
Role Overview:
As a Solutions Architect, you will be an integral part of the solution architect team, which forms a
core component of our customer-focused function. Working alongside expert solution architects in
various infrastructure technologies, AWS cloud architects and software engineers, you will
collaborate directly with customers to understand their business needs and technical requirements.
This role involves designing AWS cloud first and hybrid cloud architectures that leverage AWS, and
DIGIT cloud services to meet customer requirements while fostering a relationship of trust
throughout the partnership.
Key Responsibilities:
– Understanding Customer Needs: Collaborate with customers to understand their technical
requirements and business needs, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner in their
cloud journey.
– Architecture Development: Design comprehensive hybrid cloud architectures that combine
AWS, DIGIT cloud solutions and services, ensuring alignment with customer budgets and
requirements.
– Cloud Migration: Experience working on projects involving cloud migration, AWS migration
acceleration program (MAP), containerisation and microservices.
– Cost Awareness: Produce customer solutions that meet cost targets, fostering a relationship
of trust throughout the partnership.
– Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert on AWS within the organisation,
providing guidance and expertise to both internal engineering teams and customers while
acting as a subject matter expert escalation point to engineering teams.
– Customer Discovery: Scope out existing technology solutions with customers and to support
our recommended technical solution.
– Solution Implementation: Own the architecture during the implementation of AWS cloud
solutions, working closely with project and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery.
– Troubleshooting: Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues related to AWS
technology, providing timely resolution and troubleshooting assistance.
– Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in AWS and share
knowledge and insights with colleagues to foster a culture of learning and innovation.
Qualifications and Experience:
– Experience in solution architecture or significant experience in a senior technical role, with a
primary focus on AWS Cloud technology.
– In-depth knowledge of AWS and their partner program and frameworks.
– Proven track record of designing complex cloud solutions.
– Strong understanding of virtualization, networking, storage, and security concepts.
– Strong knowledge of Oracle Weblogic 14 and its container deployment model.
– Strong knowledge of relational databases systems such as Oracle, MySQL and Postgresql.
– Hands-on experience with Java application servers such as Wildfly, and frameworks.
– Solid experience in containers technologies i.e. Docker, or other OCI compliant engine, as
well as Kubernetes and associated technologies and patters (i.e. GitOps).
– Good exposure to Linux Operating system.
– Experience of DevOps practices and tooling for automation and continuous integration.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with
technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills:
– Expert knowledge of AWS technology, certifications as an AWS professional solutions
architect is required (more certifications is an advantage).
– Weblogic 14, Wildfly v26+ and Java technologies in general
– Docker and Kubernetes
– Advanced knowledge in cloud security.
– Advanced knowledge of operating systems windows/Linux.
– Advanced knowledge of networking.
– Very good knowledge of monitoring systems and observability solutions (e.g. Splunk,
Dynatrace).
– Automation (ansible/power automation).
– Familiarity with Integration platforms, including API Management solutions as well as
messaging solutions.
Desirable Skills:
– VMware, Linux, or similar certifications.
– Storage technologies.
– ServiceNow ITSM.
