SAS DI Engineer – Retail Banking

Job Summary

Hiring for an experienced SAS DI Engineer with 12+ years of experience working hands-on in SAS, SAS DI and / or SAS VIYA jobs development. This role will blend both deep domain and technical expertise and will be an enabler to offer enhancements to the existing platform capabilities.

Looking for someone who can bring innovation and improvement to the existing practices while working closely with the existing Developers and the wider Data engineering teams.

Roles & Responsibilities
Design data models/ structures to support modelling / reporting / change processes.
Working in an agile delivery team within an agile scrum framework
Understand the customer requirements and strategic vision for architecture and design technical solution options that meets the strategic vision.
Work across various software engineering principles including requirements gathering, analysis, design, coding, development, testing, implementation and support
Present mid and low-level designs to technical working groups and design authorities
Provide guidance to developers and help them implement the solution as per the design created.
Liaise with other projects to achieve synergies and propose/assess mutually beneficial design / delivery decisions.
Act as a leader and innovate around new ways of engineering, acting as a change agent and fostering a test and learn approach
Work with architectural, business and other engineering leads to shape, design and engineer solutions
Work hands-on developing ETL jobs in SAS DI and work on documenting the same in JIRA / Confluence

Essential Skills:
Data modelling experience – creating Logical, physical data models
Ability to develop Technical document / process flows for the As-is state and write requirements for the Future state solution
ETL designing experience – should have worked on creating designs for building data mart, data warehouse (High/Low & Mid-level designs)
Someone who started as an ETL developer and transitioned into data architect role will also be suitable
Candidate should have SAS background – Base SAS/ SAS EG & SAS DI
Good communication skills are necessary as the role requires lot of stakeholder engagement
Ability to take business requirements and translate into formal technical /architecture designs
