Nutanix AHV Virtualization Engineer
The Nutanix AHV Virtualization Engineer will play a key role in the transition from existing virtualization platforms to a Nutanix AHV-based infrastructure, which is currently not yet deployed.
The engineer will contribute to the design, build, and implementation phases in close collaboration with engineering teams, by ensuring the transition to the operations and lifecycle management of the platform.
This role is critical to ensure a smooth, secure, and efficient migration toward a modern hypervisor stack aligned with client’s objectives.
Responsabilities :
AHV Platform Build & Migration
Contribute to the design and implementation of Nutanix AHV clusters.
Participate in the migration strategy from existing virtualization platforms to AHV.
Prepare and validate infrastructure prerequisites (network, storage, hardware).
Support deployment activities (cluster creation, configuration, validation).
Define and implement best practices for AHV adoption.
Close Collaboration with Engineering Teams
Work in tight collaboration with infrastructure engineering teams (compute, network, storage, security).
Contribute to architecture design decisions and technical validation.
Align with engineering standards, reference architectures, and CISO requirements.
Provide operational feedback to improve platform design and automation.
Nutanix AHV Platform Operations (Post-Deployment)
Manage Prism Element and Prism Central.
Operate and maintain Nutanix AHV clusters once deployed.
Perform lifecycle management (LCM): upgrades, patching, compatibility checks.
Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of workloads.
Virtual Machine Management
Handle VM lifecycle (snapshots, backup integration, performance tuning).
Optimize resource utilization across clusters.
Storage & Data Protection
Configure Nutanix storage (AOS, containers).
Implement replication and backup strategies.
Support disaster recovery mechanisms (Metro Availability, replication).
Automation & Infrastructure as Code
Develop automation workflows (Ansible, REST API, scripting).
Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code and standardization efforts.
Automate provisioning and operational processes.
Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Support
Integrate with enterprise observability tools.
Security & Compliance
Apply security best practices and CISO policies.
Contribute to secure configuration baselines.
Ensure compliance with internal standards
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in virtualization and infrastructure engineering
Mandatory : Proven hands-on experience with Nutanix AHV (project or production environments)
Strong expertise in Nutanix ecosystem (AOS, Prism Element, Prism Central, LCM operations)
Experience in infrastructure build and migration projects, ideally involving transition to Nutanix AHV
Solid understanding of virtualization concepts (compute, storage, networking)
Experience with automation tools (Ansible, scripting, REST APIs)
Understanding of high-availability and disaster recovery principles.
Ability to work in close collaboration with engineering teams
Language EN / FR
Secondary (nice to have): Experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, cluster operations), especially in migration contexts. Competence in handling platform lifecycle operations: patching, upgrades, backups, certificate renewal, disaster recovery concepts.
