As the Generative AI Platform Engineer, you will be a founding member of the team creating the Generative AI platform for the business. Their remit encompasses large scale engineering challenges.

Generative AI Common Platform Engineer

2/3 days in the London office

£860 per day Inside IR35

Morgan McKinley is currently working with a leading bank who is seeing a Generative AI Platform Engineer. As the Generative AI Platform Engineer, you will be a founding member of the team creating the Generative AI platform for the business. Their remit encompasses large scale engineering challenges on-premises and on cloud, along with cutting edge use of LLMs to address the use-cases of our users across the bank.

You will be joining them right at the beginning of their journey, we are a startup within the business, and everyone will be actively coding. So, they need innovative and creative self-starters who have had previous experience in developing large-scale platforms involving data, finance, and analytics.

What you’ll do will be very case and experience driven, but here are some core themes:
Partner closely with other development teams, quants and subject-matter experts in our businesses
Build and run platforms in a way that fosters innovation and platform evolution.

What they need from you:
A passion for designing and building high-quality, reliable software.
Interest in AI/ML and LLMs and the enthusiasm to learn and apply this rapidly changing technology to practical problems in a large global financial institution.
Good knowledge of Python
Very strong knowledge and experience of at least one structured programming language — e.g. Java, C# (experience of more esoteric languages: Rust, Clojure, Haskell etc. highly appreciated too).
Ability to design simple and effective interfaces (both internal APIs and external services) that break problems down into manageable parts.
A broad and solid understanding of Computer Science
Outstanding analytical skills and the ability to learn the core technical and mathematical ideas in this new area (normally from a degree in a STEM subject)
Experience in building and running platforms at scale.
