1 Service description
• Prepare and optimize the grid data for load-flow computations and topology optimization
• Work on new methods to accelerate network load flow calculations
• Work with network data to ensure the applicability of these methods in practice,
• Align self-developed load flow tools with the production systems currently in use
• Carrying out benchmarks to identify bottlenecks and for quantitative evaluation.
• Support your colleagues with your electrical engineering expertise
• (Optional) scientific publication of the knowledge gained.

2 Requirements

• Experience: at least three years +
• Fluent in English. Additional language skills in German, Dutch or French is a plus
• Good Electrical engineering knowledge focus load flow computations
• Strong knowledge on Python, optional: Jax
• Experience in one of the tools using Pandapower, Powsybl
• Good mathematical understanding of the AC+DC loadflow equations
• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, data science, engineering, informatics, or similar is a plus
• Experience in modeling energy systems
• Experience with porting algorithms
• Strong academic background in electrical engineering
• Good communication skills

Work Location: Brussels, Empereur (occasionally traveling might be required to Berlin
Further information if the consultant will work in Belgium, for non-EU candidates, please present candidates who comply with the following criteria:
Possess a work permit allowing the individual to work in Belgium.
Hold a valid residence permit confirming the right of residence in Belgium.
