DBA Senior
General Objective
As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Database infrastructure. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development. Ensuring that the databases are secure, scalable, highly available, stable, guaranteeing integrity, and efficiency of our information systems that support core organizational functions and growth. This involves accurate documentation, architectural schemas, monitoring, alerting, and optimizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to staying current with industry advancements.
Database Administration and Management
· Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server and MongoDB database systems
· Monitor database performance and optimize for efficiency, scalability, and stability
· Implement backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability
· Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in query execution, indexing, and schema design
· Implement security standards linked to internal policies aimed to protect sensitive data and to ensure compliance with the organization and the regulator
· Manage user roles, permissions, and database access protocols
· Propose a design and implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies for critical databases
· Configure and maintain MSSQL failover clusters, Always On Availability Groups, and replication setups
· Design and implement strategic optimization approaches for MongoDB clusters, including sharding, replication, and partitioning for large-scale environments
· Support and manage Elasticsearch or other NoSQL solutions as required for search, analytics, or specific application needs
· Develop scripts for database automation tasks, including monitoring, backups, and deployment
· Leverage tools and scripts to automate repetitive DBA tasks and improve efficiency
· Work closely with developers, DevOps, and system administrators to support application requirements
· Collaborate with development teams optimize queries before deployment
· Maintain up-to-date documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards
· Ensuring infrastructure availability through periodical on-call duty shifts
Education and experience
· University degree in ICT – BAC +3 minimum
· Minimum of 6+ years of proven experience in the indicated fields
· Proven experience managing SQL Server (on-premises and cloud) and MongoDB in production environments
· Familiarity with Elasticsearch or similar NoSQL technologies is a plus.
Technical Skills
· Strong knowledge of query optimization techniques
· Experience with SQL and MongoDB infrastructure
· Familiarity with Azure for database management (other cloud platforms is a plus)
· Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation tasks
· Knowledge of database security best practices, including encryption and auditing
· Practical and concrete knowledge of backup systems such as CommVault Preferred
Qualifications
· Certification in related field is a plus
· Familiarity with SSIS packages and replications
· Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch or a comparable NoSQL solution
