For a long-term project with our client in Zurich (remote work only possible within Switzerland), we are looking for a Database Engineer – PostgreSQL / Data Analytics (m/f/d).

In this role, you are responsible for the operation of the data analytics platform in the area of trading and successfully implement the requirements.

Your tasks
• Responsible for the review of the data analytics platform in trading (application for the collection of market and order data)
• Advising stakeholders and implementing requirements
• Special focus on improving the performance and stability of the platform
• Operational support and maintenance of the analytics platform
• Collaboration in solution architecture and in the expansion and, if necessary, reengineering of the analytics platform in trading (scaling)

Must have competences
• Several years of experience as a Database Engineer with a focus on PostgreSQL & Timescale DB or comparable technologies
• Proven experience with the design, configuration and operation of databases with large data sets
• Well-versed in optimising databases in terms of query and storage performance
• Experience and integration of applications and databases in the field of data analytics as well as in re-engineering of databases and data platforms
• Strong development skills with Python & Shell Scripting
• Good knowledge of DevOps workflows (Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines)
• Experience with technologies such as Jupyter, NumPy, Grafana, Git, Gradle, Cloudbees/Jenkins, Continuous Delivery Pipeline
• Solid Linux knowledge including RPM packaging
• Fluent in English

Nice to have competences
• Knowhow in time series records is an advantage
• ETL experience is an advantage
• Willingness for support / on-call

– We are looking for developers for long-term engagements (staff leasing)

– Start also possible by arrangement

– The project is on-site in Zurich (3 days on-site, 2 days remote possible)
