Cloud Migration Engineer – Contract Outside IR35

*** This is an outside IR35 contract role paying up to £550 per day ***
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end migration of AWS-hosted EC2 instances to Microsoft Azure, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
Conducting detailed discovery of AWS hosted applications, including configurations and dependencies
Collaborating with technical and application owners to gather necessary information to ensure successful migration as well as third party vendors and service providers.
Work closely with the Engineering function to ensure alignment with standards, design principles, and best practices throughout the migration process
Identify potential risks associated with a migration, asses their impact and likelihood and develop strategies to mitigate them
Perform pre-migration admin tasks, such as raising change controls and representing at weekly change advisor board (CAB)
Facilitate skill development within the BAU teams to enhance their proficiency in support Azure (both IaaS and PaaS)
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in end-to-end migration projects, with a focus on migration AWS-hosted EC2 instances to Microsoft Azure
Strong understanding of cloud technologies and principles, with hands-on experience in AWS and Azure (both IaaS and PaaS)
Experience with Microsoft Azure security tools, including Defender for Servers, Defender for Cloud.
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell, ARM Templates, Bicep, Terraform, Azure DevOps.
Broad technical knowledge of wider infrastructure capabilities such as network and databases
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Excellent problem-solving skill and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Engineer
