On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a C# .Net Architect/Engineer for a 6 Months contract based in London (Hybrid).
Purpose of the Role:
This C# .Net Architect/Engineer will be working in the Global Market Quantitative Research and Engineering department, in the Analytics Architecture team. GMQR purpose is the valuation of positions, calculation of risks and production of regulator indicators. It is a business-critical system deployed as a desktop application to users (trading, sales, …), and distributed onto calculation grids for overnight and intraday calculations.
The Architecture team consists of Developers in London and Paris who are responsible in the whole development lifecycle, from specification and design through to testing and maintenance.
Responsibilities of the role:
As a C# .Net Architect/Engineer you will be responsible for:
Work the portfolio analytics library, used to calculate XVA. This library currently runs on grid with very good connectivity to infrastructure (databases, message queues, network shares, etc.). We want to be able to run it on remote grids (Sweden, Norway, external grid providers), with more limited access (higher latency, firewalls, etc.).
This individual will contribute to review the existing analytics and implement improvements such as:
Rollover of .net core into production.
Update serialization format.
Improve usage on NuGet.
Reduce dependencies (upgrade, clean-up, use dependency injection).
Repay possible technical debt.
Individuals will need a strong background in C#.Net development and have experience of distributed systems. The ability to write production-quality, testable code and associated automated tests is a must, as well as demonstrable experience with CI pipeline.
The ability to turn specifications into industrial-strength software solutions is essential, as is the desire and ability to gain an understanding of the underlying business processes. Developers are also expected to take full responsibility for their work up to delivery into the production environment, as well as providing documentation and some post-release support, including analysing problems or providing the support team with information.
The individual will be working in a global development team where effective communication and collaboration is essential. Understanding of Git is necessary as well as the ability to provide effective and constructive code reviews and guidance to other team members, particularly more junior developers.
What we require from the candidate:
Experience with C# / .Net (both legacy 4.7 and .Net Core 6.0+).
Experience on both Windows and Linux appreciated.
Experience with building NuGet packages is a plus.
Building C++ experience useful.
Experience of a using a CI pipeline particularly TeamCity, Git/BitBucket.
Good analytical skills.
An ability to communicate ideas in an effective way both written and orally.
