SWIFT / Payments IT Specialist
We are looking for a SWIFT/Payments IT Specialist for one of our clients.
As a SWIFT/Payments IT Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining our payments infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with various financial messaging systems and payment platforms. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and enhance SWIFT messaging workflows, facilitate payment settlements, and interface with third-party systems. This is a highly technical position, requiring in-depth knowledge of financial messaging standards and payments processing.
Key Responsibilities:
SWIFT Message Integration: Manage and implement SWIFT messaging formats (MT and ISO 20022 MX) for secure and efficient financial message exchanges. Ensure proper structuring and authorization of SWIFT messages for payment, securities, funds, and reconciliation purposes.
Examples of SWIFT Message Types:
Securities: MT54x series and MX equivalents (e.g., MT540-MT549)
Cash Payments: MT101, MT103, MT202, MT900, MT910 and their MX equivalents
Foreign Exchange: MT300, MT305, MT306 and MX equivalents
Funds: MT502, MT509, MT515 and MX equivalents
Reconciliation: MT535, MT940, MT950 and MX equivalents
Corporate Actions: MT564, MT565, MT567, MT568 and MX equivalents
Payments Infrastructure: Oversee and optimize SWIFT-based payment workflows, ensuring reliable settlement of cash and trade transactions between financial institutions. Ensure systems are properly interfacing with the SWIFT platform to facilitate payment processing.
Target2 and EBA Clearing: Manage integration and technical operations involving Target2 components (CLM, RTGS, TIPS), with strong expertise in understanding payment flows and settlement mechanisms.
SEPA Instant Payments: Implement and support SEPA Instant Payments processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards for real-time payments.
Vendor Integration: Interface with various third-party vendors, managing the technical requirements for systems integration, data exchange, and message standardization.
Desired Technical Skill Set:
SWIFT Messaging: Advanced expertise with SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX messaging standards, including knowledge of various message types across securities, cash, funds, and reconciliation workflows.
Payment Settlements: Deep understanding of payment workflows and settlement mechanisms across SWIFT, Target2, SEPA Instant Payments, and EBA Clearing. Experience in integrating settlement systems with SWIFT infrastructure.
Real-Time Payments: Experience with SEPA Instant Payments and real-time settlement systems (TIPS, RTGS).
Technical Expertise: Strong technical background in interfacing payment systems with SWIFT and other financial messaging platforms, including the ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance workflow efficiency.
This role is ideal for candidates who have a deep understanding of the technical architecture behind payment processing systems and are highly skilled in managing SWIFT message formats and workflows.
