Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Compliance Data Analyst for a 6 month contract on a hybrid basis with 3 days at home and 2 days/week in the London office.
Purpose of the Role:
To enable a more proactive and predictive approach to the assessment and early identification of Compliance Risk, our client is looking to establish a Compliance Analytics Team.
The team’s primary objectives will be to:
Define a Compliance Data Analytics strategy.
Establish and operate a framework that enables to leverage, aggregate and analyse existing compliance, HR and Business data to draw useful insights about existing & emerging areas of compliance risk.
Produce consistent and insightful reporting / MI dashboards for senior management that « connects the dots » and enables effective, data driven decision making around compliance and wider business strategy.
As a Compliance Data Analyst you will:
Support definition of a data analytics strategy for the global Compliance Team.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Senior Compliance, Front Office and HR management, to identify opportunities for leveraging data analytics and insight to drive enhanced compliance risk management.
Define the necessary data points to demonstrate adherence to internal standards (e.g., policies) and external obligations (e.g., laws, regulations, rules).
Source all existing compliance, HR and business-related data, and identify data gaps.
Aggregate available data, and design and implement data analytics models and methodologies to analyse the existing data to identify patterns, trends, and correlations, enabling more accurate management of compliance and ethical risk.
Design insightful and visual dashboards that reveal key patterns, trends or correlations between data points, and that drive key compliance decisions and risk mitigation.
Produce clear and insightful reporting to stakeholders.
Collaborate with the relevant IT departments / data owners to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of data analytics infrastructure and tools.
Stay up to date with emerging trends and advancements in data analytics, within the Compliance space of the financial sector.
What we require from the candidate:
Successful candidates will have experience of developing data analytics and reporting solutions, ideally in the Compliance space of an investment bank.
They will have a track record of:
Understanding data analytics and creating visual depicts of data that reveal the patterns, trends, or correlations between different data points.
Turning data into actionable stories and its effective use to drive organisational change.
Experience of designing and reporting KPIs
Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation using SQL and Python.
Proven experience using Tableau or similar Business Analytics tools to transform complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
Familiarity with data modelling and database design
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and align data analytics initiatives with strategic business objectives.
Awareness of key compliance risk management concepts within the investment banking sector.
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Competence in working both on project-based assignments and in a business-as-usual (BAU) context.
