Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Core duties include:
40% Cloud/ 60% on-prem work
Wintel engineering work
Designing and documenting infrastructure architectures leveraging Azure cloud services like Windows Server PaaS/IaaS alongside on-prem solutions
Maintaining vigilance of security considerations and configuring hybrid infrastructure appropriately
Conducting system backups, restoring data when needed, and contributing to disaster recovery planning/testing
Installing, configuring and administering Microsoft infrastructure components including VMWare, Active Directory, Office 365, and some Citrix
Monitoring performance, creating reports, and addressing identified bottlenecks
Diagnosing and resolving infrastructure incidents and problems escalated by service desk
Training service desk personnel on hybrid infrastructure services and support processes
Managing relationships with infrastructure vendors and managed service providers
The ideal candidate will have strong Windows systems administration experience and be excited to join the client’s cloud journey.
Required skills include:
Experience of core Azure services like Windows Server PaaS/IaaS, VMware, Active Directory, Office 365, networking, security, and other Microsoft technologies
Understanding of automation pipelines and DevOps approaches
Experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Solid communication skills to work closely with stakeholders
Sharp analytical and troubleshooting skills
Meticulous attention to detail and persistence in completing tasks
Wintel, VMWARE maintain host on site VMWare experience
Certifications in Azure or ITIL are desirable but not mandatory.
