How will you contribute?
The Senior IT System Engineer will be at the forefront of driving innovation in the company’s Windows infrastructure. This individual will optimize and secure critical systems, collaborate on the technological roadmap, and implement cutting-edge technologies aligned with market trends.
The role involves improving the current infrastructure, automating operations, and enhancing performance through expertise in Windows servers systems, automation, and containerization.
The Senior IT System Engineer will develop robust security and recovery strategies while integrating new solutions to meet industry standards. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about influencing technological change and making a significant impact on the systems.
You will be mainly in charge of:
Manage and maintain both Windows Server and Linux operating systems
Oversee Active Directory and group policy administration
Implement and manage virtualization solutions using VMware
Configure and manage Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and SSL/TLS protocols
Design and implement network protocols and configurations, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
Evaluate, implement, and manage storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and enforce data management principles
Deploy and manage cloud services (AWS, Azure) and design cloud architectures in hybrid environments
Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager Templates for infrastructure deployment
Plan, develop, and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Implement and manage modern backup technologies and strategies, including cloud-based and off-site solutions
Provide database administration support, specifically for SQL-based systems
Set up, configure, and maintain performance monitoring tools using systems like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or Splunk
Develop and maintain scripts for automation tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
Utilize automation and configuration management tools where necessary.
Manage containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly with Docker and Kubernetes
Troubleshoot complex technical issues effectively and provide resolutions.
Communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
Maintain and update relevant IT certifications to uphold industry standards and best practices
Design operational documentation and procedures

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a related field
Experience and skills
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in system engineering or system administration, preferably in an organization of similar size
Expertise in both Windows Server and Linux operating systems
Proficient in managing Active Directory and group policy
Strong experience with virtualization technologies like VMware
Knowledgeable about Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and SSL/TLS configurations
Understanding of network protocols and configurations (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
Knowledge of storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and data management principles
Skilled with cloud services (AWS, Azure), including cloud architecture and hybrid environments
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager Templates
Experienced in disaster recovery and business continuity planning
Expertise in modern backup technologies and strategies, including cloud-based and off-site solutions
Database administration experience, particularly with SQL-based systems
Advanced skills in utilizing monitoring systems like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or Splunk
Proven capabilities in setting up, configuring, and maintaining performance monitoring tools
Proficient in scripting and programming languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Competent in automation and configuration management tools (nice to have)
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools, particularly Kubernetes (nice to have)
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Cloud technology certifications (AWS Certified, Azure Administrator)
Language skills
Good level both written and spoken English and French
